Death in the Family

I had a nice and quiet weekend until I opened up this email:

All Romeos and Kilos,

It is my sad duty on this 4th of July to inform everyone that SSG Jeremy Alexander Brown ... has died in Iraq. I don't know all the details just yet, but I will post as soon as I get them. He was stationed at Fort Carson with the 3rd ACR.

Needless to say, I had no desire to watch the fireworks last night.

Rest In Peace SSG Brown.

"Always Out Front"

DoD News Release
Colorado Springs Gazette
“He was one of those people who thought it was his duty to go over there and take care of his men and give it his all,” said his mother, Teresa Brown, in a telephone interview from her home in Mabscott, W.Va.
