Tuna Is For Lovers

Here's what the 5th Annual TunaHelpers Valentine's Day Show will be like this year at Elysium Friday, February 11th ($5 admission):

(In the words of Laurel Williams)
Screw fancy dress cocktails with desperate singles or another meal with the same boy or girlfriend you had yesterday and will have tomorrrow (maybe).

Valentine's Day always blows unless you spend it with The TunaHelpers and their most ridicuosly hot and talented friends. For the 5th year in a row, The TunaHelpers have assembled a night of tasty treats (the kind that you can swallow and the kind that are sweet enough just to watch), a few of their favorite bands, activities to turn even the bluest Valentine pink and dancing, dancing, dancing. All this happens on the eve of The TunaHelpers CD-release tour, Friday February 11th at Elysium.

The bands performing are Single Frame, The TunaHelpers and The Mysterious They( featuring Terri Lord and Kerri Atwood of The Sexy Finger Champs).

There will be special performances by The Poon Girls, Dance Extreme (making their universe debut), The Be MIME go go dancers, some dancing roller-skaters, Buttons and Bows (Mark Stewart and Hilah Johnson take it old, old, olde school) and many other suprise guests!

If you can't handle the sheer entertainment overload of the aforementioned performers, there will be special activities away from the stage such as cookie decorating and the ever-so-popular "write a dirty Valentine to a stranger and put it in the envelope with the number that corresponds to said stranger's name tag" game. This unique dating game has produced 3 failed marriages, 18 illegitimate children, a serious cold sore epidemic and 1 broken soul. You'll love it!

If you get so inspired by the magical entertainers that you want to join in the fun, well you can't. But you can enter the make-out contest (awesome prizes) and rehearse an audition piece for next year's show while dancing your ass off to DJ's The Pegasus DJ and Notorious Brea.

You'd be stupid to miss the opportunity to come rub elbows with The TunaHelpers before their 2nd CD is released in March by Mimicry Records and they become so fantastically famous that you will never have the opportunity to have them spray you with dyed pink whipped cream. Yum.
